Marine reptiles are reptiles which have become secondarily adapted for life in a marine environment, including turtles, snakes, iguana, crocodiles, and more. Many species of marine reptiles are threatened or endangered on Earth, and conservation groups are seeing the terraforming of other worlds as a way to preserve these species in a new environment.
- The game does not seem to consider extinct species when describing phyla. Ichthyosaurs are an example of fully aquatic reptiles, not just 'secondarily adapted'.
- A real life Loch Ness Monster is spotted on Scotland.
