While all four of the Galilean moons are named for mythological lovers of the god Zeus, Ganymede is the only one to be named after a male, the beautiful son of King Tros of Troy. There are even reports that the Chinese astronomer Gan De might have witnessed Ganymede as early as 365 BC.
The largest moon in the entire solar system, Ganymede is even larger than the planet Mercury. This makes it ideal for colonization, as it provides plenty of space for our colonists and has, at 0.12 g, at least a workable gravity field.
About[]
Ganymede is the largest of the 4 Galilean moons, With a radius greater than Mercury (albeit less massive), a molten interior, and even a weak magnetic field, it is the largest moon of the solar system too. Despite its planet- like characteristics, it does not have any natural satellites. It serves as a medium sized world the player can colonize.
Strategy[]
As with most worlds beyond Mars, one must be sure to build a lot of ice launchers before warming up the planet. There is enough water to flood the world, so be careful to not warm up the planet too quickly.
Be careful when placing cities on Ganymede's surface. At ideal (within 5% of goal) water levels, almost all of the planet is underwater.
Another strategy is to make a combo of ice launchers and other water decreasing buildings with heat growth buildings, but be careful! Don't increase the temperature too fast, or all the cities will be drowned.
Ganymede has its own magnetic field, which protects (most) of its surface from some of Jupiter's radiation.
In real life, Ganymede has a very thin oxygen and ozone atmosphere.
Ganymede was named after the mythological Ganymede, cupbearer of the Greek gods and the only male lover of Zeus.

Strategy[]
Be sure to build a lot of ice launchers before warming up the planet. There is a sneaky ocean hidden in Ganymede's ice caps.
Be careful when placing cities on Ganymede's surface. At ideal (within 5% of goal) water levels, almost all of the planet is underwater. Do not play as Daughters of Gaia and construct the Sky Farm Satellite.
Another strategy is to make a combo of ice launchers and other water decreasing buildings with heat growth buildings. But be careful. Don't increase the temperature too fast, or all the cities will be drowned.
On Ganymede can place a lot of cities, as it is larger than Mercury (Although in the game it is the same size as Mercury.). Sky Farm will fit more in the map.
