The Randomly Generated Planet "Restenoi"

Generate a completely random world to settle and transform.

Let's Talk Playable Worlds - TerraGenesis

Alexander Winn explains the Random Planet Generator

One of the packs players can purchase in TerraGenesis (or get with the All-Access Pack) is the Random Planet Generator. Purchasing this allows to infinitely generate randomized worlds, with randomly generated names, ranging from lush green paradises to hellish planets with thick atmospheres. Some of these worlds can even harbour alien life in the form of Native Civilizations and/or Biospheres. However, if hoping to, you can’t find a habitable world to humans/animals, so you can’t get a major head start. This is because the generator never makes planets with a habitable amount of oxygen.

Mechanics[]

Once a player has started a game on a random world, that random world will be saved, and they can create new games on that same random world. If they choose to reload a world without starting a game on it, or delete all of saves on a world, that unused world will be lost.

Planets[]

Planets are randomly generated with different surfaces, and their description page is also listed like this:

[planet name]

[class size]

Temperature: (150,000-500,000 or 1,500,000-1,800,000) mK

Pressure: (0-200,000 or 1,000,000-11,000,000) Pa

Oxygen: (0-179,999 or 240,001-1,000,000) ppm

Sea Level: (0-10,000,000) cm

Ideal Sea Level: (30%-70% of elevation range)

Elevation Range: (0-11,000,000) cm

MOONS (optional)

- [moon name] (class size)

Native Civilization Detected (optional)

Biomass levels were not added on the description.

The planet's surfaces can be as simple as plain mix of colors with no atmosphere, hot/cold planets that have high/low pressure levels with oxygen and few water, lush green planets that have full biomass requirements and habitable for plants/humans, lava worlds, worlds with high oxygen etc. Elevation is also randomly generated too, their highest points are around 5 to a whopping 110 km above the sea level! The higher the elevation, the higher the water goals are.

Updates[]

Thanks to the 5.7 update, Lava Worlds can now be found among the worlds generated, and the 5.15 update overhauled the entire generation system.

As of version 6.35, maximum elevation is generated based on planet size.

Statistics[]

Random worlds can be classified into distinct types, and there's a probability for each of them.

World Type Description Chance
Vacuum World All stats but temperature are 0. 45%
Low Oxygen Planet has pressure and a low amount of oxygen. (1-179,999 ppm) 15%
High Oxygen Planet has pressure and a high amount of oxygen. (240,001-1,000,000 ppm) 2%
High Pressure Planet has a thick atmosphere. (1,000,000-11,000,000 Pa) 6.5%
Native Biosphere Planet has biosphere/maximum biomass on it. Half of these planets have natives. 25%
Native Civilization Planet has Native Civilization. 12.5%
Lava Planet Planet has high temperature. (unretained temperature 1,500,000-1,800,000 mK)

Very rarely has an atmosphere.

4%
Retrograde Rotation Planet rotates right to left instead of left to right when viewed from the main game screen.

Note: If going to add any other world types besides barren, try to back it up statistically with at least 1000 random planets.
