Discovered in 1684 by Giovanni Domenico Cassini at the Paris Observatory, Dione is similar in many respects to its sister moon, Rhea. Both are ice worlds with high albedos and varied terrain, differing between their leading and trailing hemispheres.

One feature sure to draw some immigration and tourism are the icy cliffs on Dione, some of which are hundreds of meters tall. Already, your office is receiving requests from adventure-seekers wanting to climb or jump from the cliffs. But before they can arrive, they'll need somewhere to live.

About[]

Dione is one of the moons in Moons of Saturn.

Strategy[]

First get rid of the hidden ocean in Dione's ice caps to avoid flooding, then increase all other stats. Be careful when placing cities, because this moon won't be able to place many on such a small world.

Trivia[]

Dione is in a 2:1 resonance with Enceladus. 2 years on Enceladus is equal to 1 year of Dione.

Dione has 2 Trojans, named Polydeuces and Helene, orbiting in the L4 and L5 points of Dione.

Dione has a subsurface ocean beneath its surface, like Europa and Enceladus. Its depth is 65 to 164 km below the surface.

Dione is very similar to Rhea, another moon of Saturn.

At April 7, 2010, Cassini discovered a thin atmosphere mainly made of oxygen.
