A bug is a flaw in the game's code that causes unusual things to happen in the game. Bugs can be triggered by the player, or they can trigger naturally.

Current bugs[]

  • Cities becoming abandoned when the population goes above the signed 32-bit integer limit of 2,147,483,647. (PC only)
  • Activating a governor boost and closing the game but having the boost expire before returning will result in the boost having no effect.
  • Using the Fast Forward feature while water level is increasing due to temperature changes can result in water being "created" despite having no water-increasing facilities.
    • E.g. 0 cm of water (surface)
    • 100,000 cm of water (frozen / in vapour)
    • +/- 10,000 cm of water per minute from global warming/cooling
    • Using 1 hour of fast forward in this situation will cause the planet to have 600,000 cm of surface water (60x10,000), with 500,000 cm of water being created.
  • Governor Entanglement (PC only)
  • Cities that should be flooded can avoid being flooded by not being in the world when it is supposed to occur. For example, cities on Earth are supposed to flood due to climate change increasing temperature. If you leave the world alone long enough for the temperature to reach about 330,000 mK, these cities will still survive.
  • The Facility Melted event is able destroy facilities on moons, despite the fact that moons are at least thousands of kilometers away from its planet.

Bugs (may or might be patched yet)[]

  • The game freezing frequently (usually on start-up after the construction of many buildings has finished while the game was inactive).
  • Two ships orbiting a planet.
  • The dark side of a planet is cyan, strong yellow, or light yellow. This is sometimes caused by having multiple saves of one planet.
  • Water appearing on flat map when there actually is no water.
  • On flat map, Biomass only appears near or away from the equator, even when the whole planet is coated in Biomass.
  • Music not playing.
  • Ability to play on expired live events by setting your device's clock forwards.
    • [Not a bug] Setting your device's clock backwards triggers the Time Traveler event, increasing Pressure by millions of Pa across all worlds
      Mars with cyan shadows

Mars with cyan shadows. This is caused by having 2 Mars saves.

Double ships
